At The Vegan Dairy, the dynamic duo behind our venture, Brittany and Bronson, are not only partners in life but also partners in their mission to create delectable dairy-free treats.

From a hobby to a profession

Our journey into vegan cheese began when we set out to create a dairy-free version of Bronson’s beloved Persian feta. Initially, we shared a few jars with loved ones, which eventually led to dozens of jars sold at Britt’s mother’s market stall. This humble start gradually evolved into a full-time career, crafting delightful guilt-free alternatives to Australia’s favorite dairy indulgences.

However, our ability to produce exquisite cheeses didn’t materialize overnight.

Our skills were cultivated over time through a childhood filled with cooking and cheesemaking, equipping us with a deep understanding of traditional methods. With this knowledge, we transformed all-natural ingredients into a comprehensive range of dairy-free products that we find incredibly delicious.

As longtime vegetarians who later embraced a plant-based lifestyle, we always sought tasty dairy-free alternatives to our favorite foods. Unfortunately, they never quite hit the mark. After numerous disappointing purchases and extensive experimentation at home, we took matters into our own hands. But we continue to explore innovative ways to make our range as environmentally friendly and animal-friendly as possible.

Our commitment to the planet through plant-based practices

Not only are we benefiting the planet by abstaining from exploiting beautiful creatures, but we are also building a brighter future through fully sustainable practices. We wholeheartedly embrace a variety of measures to minimize our environmental impact in every aspect of our business. From 100% waste-free production, made possible by on-site composting facilities, to conscientious sorting and recycling of undesirable packaging, such as vacuum-sealed bags for nuts, we leave smaller footprints at every step.

Thoughtful packaging choices

We take pride in declaring that our retail packaging is now entirely free of plastic, and we are actively working towards achieving plastic-free status throughout our entire operation. When compostable packaging is not feasible, we ensure our packaging is 100% reusable and/or recyclable. For instance, our feta is packaged in mason jars that can be reused indefinitely. These versatile containers can be transformed into coffee cups, herb shakers, salt and pepper grinders, soap pumps, and more. The possibilities are endless.

Sourcing high-quality ingredients

Whenever possible, we source our ingredients locally. In cases where local sourcing is not feasible, we partner with responsible businesses committed to supporting their own communities. Ethical labor practices are a priority for us, ensuring that all involved in the production and harvesting of our ingredients are treated fairly.

Although these initiatives may increase costs and require additional effort on our part, we consider them a small price to pay for protecting our beautiful planet and supporting hardworking communities worldwide.

All-natural ingredients are our foundation.

We derive our entire range from 100% natural ingredients sourced solely from the earth, guaranteeing their organic and vegan nature. Moreover, we are actively working to replace organic cashews with organic hemp in our butters, creams, and even developing new cheeses. While cashews contribute to sustainable production, we continuously seek ways to further reduce our environmental impact.

Leaving smaller footprints

Everything we create is filled with the things you love: rich flavors and organic ingredients. Simultaneously, our products are free from gluten, dairy, lactose, additives, and refined sugars. When we cannot source ingredients locally, we partner with responsible businesses that play a significant role in supporting their local communities.

Preserving tradition in our processes

Our cheeses taste like dairy cheeses because we adhere strictly to traditional cheese-making techniques. This approach infuses our products with authentic, natural flavors reminiscent of our grandparents’ generation. We maintain a rule of not adding any flavors that cannot be achieved through fermentation, culturing, and aging, nor any ingredients that you wouldn’t eat as standalone food. This ensures our products remain as natural and authentic as possible. It’s as if you made them yourself at home, but we’ve done it for you!

Promoting your well-being

A wonderful byproduct of our vegan and lactose-free products is the presence of a myriad of healthy gut bacteria resulting from the culturing process. Additionally, by activating our nuts, we make it easier for your body to digest and absorb the beneficial nutrients within.
